I have a very big family that I love dearly. My sister lives with me and I have three children and 15 grandchildren. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my grandchildren, who I just adore. Family is very important to me and that is why I was so scared when I found out I had high blood pressure. One day I was talking to my sister and she told me that she thought I might have high blood pressure and that I should go visit the doctor. I had no idea whether her diagnosis was right or wrong, but I decided it was better to be safe than sorry, so I scheduled an appointment with my doctor.

Well…my sister was right. The doctor discovered that I did in fact have high blood pressure, but said that with the right medicine and changes to my diet, I would be able to manage my condition. Thank the Lord for that!!!I am so grateful to this day that my sister said something to me because had she not, I might have waited too long to learn about my condition. One of the biggest problems with high blood pressure is that there are no symptoms, making it impossible to know whether or not you have high blood pressure unless you go see a doctor. If I had gone without having my high blood pressure treated, I could have had a stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.

My doctor told me that I had to go on medicine in order to bring my blood pressure down to a more normal level. Thankfully I was able to get the medicine I needed and the medicine has brought my blood pressure down so that I am now able to live a healthy life. I cannot imagine where I might be if there were not medicines available to help me manage my condition. It is just unfathomable to me.

My whole family was so worried about me after I got my diagnosis from the doctor. But now I have the necessary medicine I need to live a long life and my future is so much brighter. I can now look forward to playing with my grandchildren and maybe being around to play with their children.
