Cancer is one of the greater tests that a human being can face. Almost everyone these days is touched by the disease — either personally or someone who they love. I understand. I know the emotions you feel because I have felt them too: incredulity, distress, desperation. Surviving cancer is not easy, but it is full of blessings if we decide to find them and are open to receive them.
During my battle, I discovered the true meaning of the words love and compassion. I have had the privilege to live it, to feel it and to enjoy it like never before. When I realized that I did not fit the “medical profile” for breast cancer, I knew I was touched for a reason. If my experience can help other people find the strength to fight, my intention is fulfilled. We must fight cancer with dignity. We are the thousands of people affected by this disease.
